Diagnosing Hotspots in Industrial Equipment with a High-Resolution Thermal Imaging Camera
In electrical and mechanical maintenance, abnormal heat at connectors, busbars, motors, or bearings can indicate poor electrical contact, overloading, or increased friction. The UNI-T UTi384J Thermal Imaging Camera features a 384 × 288-pixel infrared sensor, with image enhancement that increases the resolution to 768 × 576 pixels. It offers temperature measurement ranges of -40°C to 150°C and 0°C to 650°C, combined with a NETD of 40 mK or less to detect subtle temperature differences across equipment surfaces. Manual, automatic, touch, and continuous focusing modes allow users to adjust the image according to the inspection distance and target location. Temperature-area analysis, alarm functions, and image storage help technicians document abnormalities, compare results across inspections, and plan condition-based maintenance.
Waveform Analysis and Digital Signal Decoding with a Four-Channel Oscilloscope
In electronic circuit board development, switch-mode power supply testing, and embedded system troubleshooting, observing multiple signals simultaneously helps engineers identify timing relationships and detect data transmission errors. The UNI-T UPO1054 Digital Oscilloscope features a 50 MHz bandwidth, four input channels, and a maximum sampling rate of 2 GSa/s. Its 56 Mpts memory supports longer waveform captures for analyzing events that occur during system operation. The instrument includes decoding functions for RS232/UART, I²C, and SPI protocols, allowing technicians to correlate transmitted and received data with voltage waveforms without requiring a separate protocol decoder. Automatic measurements, FFT analysis, and USB and LAN connectivity support result storage, frequency component analysis, and integration into testing workflows in research laboratories and electronics production lines.
True RMS Current Measurement and Electrical System Testing in Industrial Environments
When measuring loads powered by variable-frequency drives, switch-mode power supplies, or electronic controllers, current waveforms may be distorted compared with a conventional sine wave. The UNI-T UT219E Clamp Meter uses True RMS technology to measure AC current up to 600 A. It also measures AC/DC voltage up to 600 V, resistance, capacitance, and frequency. Its VFC function supports voltage measurements in variable-frequency drive applications, helping reduce the influence of certain high-frequency components according to the instrument's measurement characteristics. The meter is rated CAT IV 600 V and CAT III 1000 V, features IP54 protection, and is designed to withstand drops from heights of up to 2 m, according to the manufacturer's specifications. Its 33 mm jaw opening allows current measurement without disconnecting conductors, making it suitable for checking motor loads, distribution panels, and factory electrical systems.
Assessing Insulation Condition with Test Voltages up to 2500 V
Deteriorating insulation resistance in cables, motors, transformers, and electrical equipment can increase the risk of leakage current, electrical discharge, or ground faults. The UNI-T UT502A Insulation Resistance Tester provides three test voltages: 500 V, 1000 V, and 2500 V, with an insulation resistance measurement range of up to 20 GΩ. In addition to insulation testing, the instrument supports low-resistance measurement with a test current greater than 200 mA, helping verify the continuity of protective conductors and electrical connections. Its polarization index (PI) and dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) functions provide additional data for assessing insulation condition in certain types of electrical equipment, following appropriate testing procedures. High-voltage warnings, indicator lights, and audible alarms help technicians monitor test status during operation. The UT502A is suitable for motor maintenance, wiring inspections, and insulation assessment during routine preventive maintenance.
Measuring Air Velocity and Temperature for Ventilation and HVAC Inspections
Airflow and air temperature affect heat exchange efficiency, ventilation performance, and working conditions in industrial facilities. The UNI-T UT363S Anemometer measures air velocity from 0.4 to 30 m/s with a resolution of 0.01 m/s, while also measuring air temperature from -10°C to 50°C. With a sampling interval of 0.5 seconds, it supports maximum, minimum, and average readings to help monitor airflow variations at the inspection point. Its compact handheld design allows technicians to check supply air outlets, return air grilles, ventilation fans, and air distribution points in HVAC systems. Data hold and unit conversion functions make it easier to record measurements across multiple locations. The instrument is suitable for preliminary ventilation checks, air conditioning maintenance, and assessments of working environmental conditions in production areas.
